Dr. Leidig joined Cardiology Physicians in 1996 having completed his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Harvard University Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and then serving as Chief of Cardiology at Fort Bragg North Carolina where he served our country as Major US Army Medical Corps attached to the 82nd Airborne. He earned the Army’s coveted Expert Field Medical Badge and Meritorious Service Medal.

He met his wife, Lieutenant Meaghen Flanagan Army Nurse Corps, while they were serving at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and were married in 1985 at her home parish Holy Trinity Catholic Chapel West Point New York where they were stationed for three years. Their son Andrew was born at Walter Reed and sons Patrick and Farrell at West Point and Molly Meaghen at Beth Israel Hospital Boston. They have three grandchildren: John, Vivian and Palmer.

Dr. Leidig is from Baltimore, Maryland where he attended Mount St. Joseph High School and Loyola College Maryland where he was a DJ at their radio station and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is a member of the National Jesuit Honor Society. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He is board certified in Internal Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology. He has strong interest in Radial Artery Heart Catheterization and Coronary Stenting and cares for patients with the full range of cardiac diagnoses.

The Leidig family enjoys getting together at their beach house in South Bethany, Delaware, challenging each other in corn toss, golf birding and music trivia while relaxing on the beach.

They attend Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Hockessin, Delaware where Dr. Leidig is a lector and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and serves actively with the Cornerstone men’s retreat program.

His hobbies include running, swimming, photography, American history, and gardening along with collecting coins and stamps.
